Kids and Bikes
When I was younger I used to cycle miles. I learnt when I was 5 years old and at 41 I can still remember the thrill of going 10 foot. I was one of those lone learners – no one around, just kept going till I could do it.
I can probably remember most of my fall offs too!
More recently now I have my own two boys I have been teaching them. The youngest, Roo, is still struggling, perhaps because he is small and still rides his toddler bike, but the eldest, Byron, is now doing really well and I love going off with him through the country side. Not far on the bike yet, but far enough for that all important father and son time.
Of course there are a few hairy moments…the odd wobble. And I wish that cars would give us more room. I tend to sit behind Byron quite a long way out to force the cars round. I’m sure that irritates them, but I want to give the lad wobble-room should he need it.
Occasionally I’ll post about kids and bikes, from kids trailers to kids helmets, and occasionally about kid bikes themselves. If you would like to review anything to do with kids bikes then do get in touch.

Road bike cycling is one of the activities that brings families closer together.
