Cycling distance monitor 1st June 2010

Just a quick note.

After the 30 miler the other day, I decided to up the training schedule a bit.  So tonight I did 23 miles and it felt pretty good.  I think I have a virus knocking around though, and it didn’t help that the disk brake was scraping, yet again, and I had to wear a rain cycling jacket just in case…

Ok, so I am giving excuses.  But when you lift your bike off the floor, spin the front wheel and it stops turning after one turn then you know something is up.  When I got home I tried another way of straightening up the wheel, I undid the quick release and just dropped the fork onto it.  That is, the bike was the right way round, and I just used it’s weight.  Locked it up, and suddenly it spins free.

Now you aren’t telling me that that is all I needed to do are you?

Oh well.

I think I will stick at 23 miles for now, as it seems pretty good and it felt about right at the moment.

Another note.  On Sunday it wasn’t worth a blog, but I managed a run/walk of 3 minutes run, and one minute walk, about 6 times (had the dog with me, so had to clean up…wait for the train to go past, that kind of thing!)  That makes it the best running I have ever done.  I will have to do the same on Saturday as I am away at college again.

Looking forward to the summer and being able to run 30 mins without stopping!

And last night I threw some light weights around, following my usual plan to maintain muscle tone without adding bulk.
