Assos Clothing
Probably the most impressive thing when you visit the Assos website is their honesty as to the longevity of their garments. In short, not forever. In fact, they are designed that way.
And I think it’s the first time that I have ever come across a manufacturer who actually tells you to carefully adjust the seams of your clothes as you sit down on your bike. And the best bit: gentlemen don’t pull on the seams when you take a pee.
All this goes to show that the Assos is indeed a fine garment, there isn’t a bad review around, and with prices at over the £100 mark you’d want to take care of them – so they also give you washing and care instructions. What do you wash them with? How do you wear them?
Both chamois cream and washing liquid starter kits are included in the box.
One thing is certain though, and that is that you should make sure of your fit. Because this is precision clothing you need to get the right tightness – it’s compression clothing at its best here. Assos explain that if you are wearing Assos bib shorts then ideally they should be tight around the shoulders when you are stood up. And a number of customers agree.

Then as I researched I discovered that if I was going to become a competitive amateur I would have to copy the pro’s and take seriously the world of bib. And [...]
